Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman called for a transparent investigation monitored by the High Court, arguing that the circumstances surrounding the death of such a senior official should be examined independently.
Other opposition leaders reportedly demanded a judicial inquiry to ensure that all questions surrounding the incident are addressed.
Authorities have not yet announced whether a separate judicial or court-monitored investigation will be constituted.

Post-Mortem Findings Awaited
