The goal demonstrated why Scaloni had introduced the Inter striker. Lautaro occupied the most dangerous central space and attacked the delivery with greater aggression than England’s exhausted defensive line.

England attempted a final attacking push, but Argentina managed the remaining minutes and secured their seventh appearance in a World Cup final.

Messi Takes Control Of The Closing Stages
