Netherlands Women won the toss and chose to bat first. They started positively through Heather Siegers and Phebe Molkenboer, but Bangladesh struck twice inside the Powerplay to slow the innings.
Captain Babette de Leede became the backbone of the Netherlands innings. She scored a composed 50 off 45 balls, holding the innings together while wickets kept falling around her.
Bangladesh’s bowlers kept things tight through the middle overs. Marufa Akter impressed with 2/31, while Ritu Moni produced an economical spell of 1/17 in four overs.
Despite late contributions from Iris Zwilling and Silver Siegers, Netherlands could only reach 139/8, leaving Bangladesh with a tricky but achievable target.
Bangladesh began the chase aggressively. Juairiya Ferdous attacked from the start, smashing 7 fours and 2 sixes in her 50 off 33 balls. Alongside Dilara Akter, she gave Bangladesh a strong opening stand of 67 runs.
But the match changed suddenly. Caroline de Lange removed Ferdous and captain Nigar Sultana off consecutive deliveries, before Silver Siegers bowled Dilara Akter. When Sobhana Mostary was run out, Bangladesh slipped from 67/0 to 85/4.
At that stage, Netherlands sensed a comeback. However, Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter showed excellent composure, adding an unbeaten 56-run partnership to guide Bangladesh home.
Shorna sealed the chase in style, hitting Iris Zwilling over mid-off for four as Bangladesh completed a famous six-wicket win with five balls to spare.

The biggest turning point came during Bangladesh’s chase when Juairiya Ferdous and Nigar Sultana fell off consecutive deliveries to Caroline de Lange.
Bangladesh were cruising at 67/0, but suddenly lost four wickets for just 18 runs. Netherlands had a real chance to steal the match from that position.
However, the unbeaten 56-run stand between Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter became the decisive partnership that rescued Bangladesh and completed the historic chase.
❌ Failed to convert a good platform into a 150-plus total.
❌ Lost regular wickets through the middle overs.
❌ Babette de Leede lacked enough support from the top and middle order.

❌ Defended bravely but did not have enough runs on the board.
Juairiya Ferdous gave Bangladesh the perfect start in a record chase.
Her 50 off 33 balls was full of intent and clean striking. She attacked the Netherlands bowlers early, helping Bangladesh race to 46/0 in the Powerplay.
Although her wicket triggered a collapse, the platform she created proved vital in Bangladesh completing their highest successful chase in Women’s T20Is.
