In one of the most horrifying crime incidents reported in Telangana in recent years, a 28-year-old man accused in a POCSO case allegedly murdered six people, including his own wife and two young children—in a meticulously planned revenge attack in Daivalaguda village of Shabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy district, during the early hours of Saturday.

The accused, identified as Rajkumar, had recently secured bail in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police say the brutal killings were driven by vengeance against the family that had filed the complaint leading to his arrest.

According to preliminary police findings, Rajkumar armed himself with a sharp-edged weapon and first entered the residence of the minor girl who had accused him of sexual harassment.

He allegedly attacked the family while they were asleep, killing:

  • The minor girl
  • Her mother, Lakshmi
  • Her grandmother, Rattamma

Investigators believe the assault was swift and premeditated, giving the victims little opportunity to escape or raise an alarm.

The tragedy took an even more disturbing turn when Rajkumar allegedly returned to his own home.

Police suspect that his wife Saritha attempted to question or stop him after learning about the attack. In a shocking act of violence, the accused allegedly killed her as well before turning the weapon on their own children.

The victims included:

  • Saritha (wife)
  • Three-year-old daughter
  • Two-year-old son

The deaths of the two toddlers have left residents and investigators deeply shaken.

Police said the motive appears to stem from a criminal case registered against Rajkumar on May 16, when the minor girl and her mother accused him of stalking and sexually harassing the child.

Following the complaint, Rajkumar was arrested under the POCSO Act and remanded to judicial custody. Although he was later released on bail, investigators believe he blamed the victim’s family for his imprisonment and planned a retaliatory attack.

Authorities are treating the killings as a carefully executed act of revenge.

According to investigators, Rajkumar allegedly confessed the murders to his parents after the killings. His parents immediately informed local police, enabling officers to respond quickly.

Senior officers, including Cyberabad Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi and DCP Yogesh Gautam, rushed to Daivalaguda village to supervise the investigation.

Forensic experts, clues teams and dog squads examined both crime scenes to collect physical and biological evidence. The accused has been taken into police custody for interrogation.

The Shabad Police have registered a case against Rajkumar under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:

  • Section 103 BNS – Multiple counts of murder
  • Section 331 BNS – House-trespass with preparation to cause hurt while armed with a deadly weapon
  • Criminal intimidation and other applicable provisions based on the investigation

The earlier POCSO case against the accused remains part of the overall investigation, with police examining whether additional charges should be invoked.

Police are reconstructing the sequence of events, examining forensic evidence and recording witness statements to establish the complete timeline of the crime.

Given the alleged premeditated nature of the killings and the deaths of multiple family members, investigators are expected to pursue the strongest charges permitted under law. The final punishment, if the accused is convicted, will be determined by the courts after trial.

The gruesome incident has sent shockwaves across Telangana, reigniting debate over crimes driven by revenge, the safety of victims in sensitive cases, and the importance of monitoring accused persons released on bail.

Note: The investigation is ongoing. All allegations against the accused remain subject to judicial proceedings, and guilt can only be determined by a competent court after due process.
