Qualifier 1 in Dharamsala will feature the top two teams from the IPL 2026 points table. The winner of this match will directly qualify for the final.
The Eliminator in New Chandigarh will be played between the teams finishing third and fourth in the standings. The losing side will be knocked out of the tournament.
Qualifier 2, also scheduled in New Chandigarh, will feature the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator to decide the second finalist.
⚠️ Why Bengaluru Lost The IPL 2026 Final
Bengaluru was originally designated to host the IPL 2026 final. However, the BCCI later reassigned the marquee match to Ahmedabad.
In its official statement, the BCCI said the shift happened due to certain requirements from the local association and authorities that were beyond the scope of its operational guidelines and protocols.
While the board did not officially disclose the exact reasons, the decision has triggered discussions among fans and cricket observers.
Last year, Bengaluru witnessed major crowd-management and security concerns during a large cricket-related public gathering, where reports stated that 11 people lost their lives in a stampede-like incident.

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will now host the IPL 2026 final on May 31.
